Troubleshooting - Help Yourself - there are over 500 teachers & staff in the Lake Dallas ISD and only 3 PC technicians plus 1 network administrator - you'll be doing everyone a favor if you follow these simple steps

Part I: Computer won’t turn on or respond - try checking:
· Computer power – is the cord plugged into an electrical outlet and your computer?
· Keyboard, mouse, monitor – are they securely plugged into the back of the computer.
· Patch cord (looks like a fat telephone cord) from the computer should be plugged into the hub.
· Hub should be plugged into the wall (w/an AC adapter) for power - it should have a green light if it has power.

If the above doesn’t help, go to a computer that does work and submit a Technology Work Order

Part II: Can’t Log-On?
Network Log-On (Ctrl + alt + del):
- that’s when you first log on to the computer where it says “Username,” “Password,” & “Falcon.”
·· Make sure you are using the correct username & password.
·· If it says “Falcon domain not available” – refer to Part I to check your connections.
.. Your network logon and FirstClass (e-mail logon) are two separate accounts.
You have to be logged onto the network (Falcon domain) before you can log on to your FirstClass (e-mail) account

Part III: Trouble with a Particular Program:
Reboot – go to START > SHUTDOWN > RESTART and try it again.
This solves a lot of problems.

Part IV: No Sound
Are the speakers plugged into the computer & do they have power (are they plugged into an electrical outlet)? Is there a green light?

· Are the speakers turned on & is the volume turned up?
· Is the sound muted?
Double-click the speaker icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to adjust the sound
  & check for muting.

If the above doesn’t help, go to a computer that does work and submit a Technology Work Order
