Instructions for Creating FirstClass Web Pages

To insert a picture or clipart on to your web page:
** you should know which picture or piece of clipart you want BEFORE using the following steps**  


Open the web page you where you want the picture/clipart

Put your cursor where you want the picture - just click in the white space to place the cursor
- you might have to hit the ENTER key to move your cursor to the correct spot
- you might also use the pull-down alignment menu to center, left or right align your picture

* When centering your pictures on yoru web page, you need to either:
- have some sort of title or text above the pictures
- OR a blank line where you have used the space bars a few times
otherwise - your pictures iwll not be centered

Click on the the INSERT pull-down menu (just above the white portion of your web page) & select FILE

Use the pull-down menu (in the next window that pops up) to browse to:

- the A: floppy drive for digital pictures you have saved to a disc (which should be in the computer when you click the INSERT button) & double-click on the picture you want

- browse to your teacher folder on the server to find a picture or clipart that you have saved

If you need/want to resize the picture/clipart:
- right-click on the picture/clipart
- select FORMAT IMAGE
- change the image size in the lower portion of the next screen that pops up
   (you might have to play around with this to get it the way you want

        - FIRST try using the pull-down menu to change the % of the Original picture
        - if you don't like that, try changing the actual number of pixels
          (uncheck the keep ratio aspect FIRST) & play around with the numbers until you get the size you want
