Ideas for Using Classroom Jeopardy with Your Classes
Plan Ahead
If you are planning on creating a game with your own questions, use the template to write out your questions first.
Highlight the answers with a color that will stand out.
Print your questions template and it might be a good idea to laminate the questions template.
This will give you or your Jeopardy "judge" an answer sheet to refer to while the game is being played.
This will also help you to QUICKLY input your questions into the game unit.
The template can be found in the Classroom Jeopardy folder found in the "Integrating Technolgy Ideas" folder in the Technology Info. folder on the FirstClass dekstop
Organizing Your Class
Have one or two students act as “Alex Tribeck” – reading the questions & working the master control
Have another student or two use the answer key to act as “judge(s)”
You could have another student “read” the questions.
Split your classes in to teams of three
· Sitting in rows
· Rotate through “ringing in” (change players after each question)
Split your classes in to teams of three
· Teams must agree on an answer before answering a question
If time is a factor, tell students that they may only choose from certain categories to make sure that they cover topics you want covered.
Pit classes against each other – highest scoring class gets something (extra points on a test or popcorn party or something)
You can hook up two units together and have six teams & use the same strategies as above.
Work together with other grade level (or subject) teachers to create games you can share.
