Ms. Williams’ Weekly Chat Issue 24                February 28, 2008 UNITS OF STUDY Theme: Texas                 Personal Information *Mr. Weekend Bear will stay home and rest this weekend. *We will do “Beary-Special” Student again next week. *Reilly Beck will provide snack for the class next week.  We have 21 students. *Please keep collecting Box Tops for Education for our school. Thanks to those that have sent some so far! Upcoming Events *We submitted our “Knocks Your Socks Off Chili today for the Kindergarten Chili Cook-off!  Be sure to ask your child what our secret ingredient was! *There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow on Friday, February 29th due to a Staff Development Day for teachers.   *Report Cards will be going home on Thursday, March 6th. *There will be a “Take Home Project” coming home next week.  You and your child will get to decorate a cowboy boot since we are talking about Texas for the next two weeks.  There will be a note explaining what to do. *We will have our Kindergarten Egg Hunt for Easter on Thursday, March 13th.  A note will come home soon with more information. *Spring Break is going to be March 17th- 21st and we will have NO SCHOOL during that week. *We are trying to plan a Kindergarten field trip to the movies to see “Horton Hears a Who”.  It is not confirmed just yet, but I wanted to give ya’ll a heads-up.  Our class will be going with three other Kindergarten classes (Ernest, Simpson, and Webb) on Thursday, March 27th.  A note will come home soon with more information. *I will be sending home Flat Stanley sometime in the next two weeks.  There will be notes accompanying him home with explanations of what to do.
