Ideas for Using PowerPoint with Your Curriculum

Using PowerPoint with Younger Students
1.  Have students create riddles based on a topic being studied - first slide type the question & the second slide would have the answer
2.  Have students create a presentation on a an animal - first slide would have a name of the animal & the second would have a picture and sentence about the animal
3.  Have students create WORD RECOGNITION flash cards - first slide has the word & the second slide would have a picture of the word with a sound file of the word inserted
4.  Have students create math flash cards - first slide picture problem & second slide solution
5.  Have your class create a "How To ..." presentation where each student makes a slide for ONE of the steps (how to make a PBJ sandwich, a jack-o-lantern, plant a seed, etc...)
6.  Have your class create a a slide show where each student makes a one slide about a topic being studied (i.e. weather facts, plants, animals,  food groups, "ALL ABOUT ME," health, transportation, safety, etc...)

Using PowerPoint with Older Students
1.  Have students present their research in a PowerPoint presentation (i.e. inventors, scientists, country reports, book reviews, etc...)
2.  Have students create a "Who Am I?" presentation as a study guide to share with classmates (see links on the left for instructions)
3.  Have students create an answer and question slide to be imported into a PowerPoint Jeopardy game and use a reviewing tool before a test (see links on the left for instructions)
4.  Have students create a PowerPoint Movie to illustrate a concept (see links on the left for instructions)
5.  Have students create non-linear PowerPoint presentations (see Helpful Hints links on left for instructions on how to link slides so that they are NOT in 1, 2, 3, order)
