Designated Hazardous Areas

The Texas Education Code sets the definition of a hazardous area as follows: "A hazardous condition exist in high traffic areas when no walkway is provided and children must walk along or across a freeway or expressway, an underpass, or bridge, an uncontrolled major artery, an industrial or commercial area or another comparable condition. Construction areas may be considered hazardous on an as needed basis."
Lake Dallas ISD has designated the following areas as hazardous. Please note the areas listed below as "include" are eligible for district-provided transportation. If an area is listed under "except," the area is not eligible for district-provided transportation.
Desgnated Hazardous Areas
(within 2-mile radius of campus)Lake Dallas High School Hazardous areas include West of Post Oak Dr., South of F.M. 2181, North of Lake Sharon, & Destiny RV Park. Lake Dallas Middle School All areas Hazardous, except streets and neighborhoods located off of Lakeview Dr. This includes Lake Bridge Estates, and areas North of Main St. (Market St., Alamo Ave., Goliad Ave., Gotcher Ave., Hundley Shores Village, Ashleye Village and Shady Shores Apts., and Kings Manor Estates). Transportation will NOT be provided for these areas. Corinth Elementary School Hazardous areas include West of Post Oaks Dr., South of F.M. 2181, North of Lake Sharon, & Destiny RV Park. Lake Dallas Elementary School All areas Hazardous, except streets and neighborhoods located off of Lakeview Dr. This includes Lakebridge Estates and areas North of Main St. (Market St., Alamo Ave., Goliad Ave., Gotcher Ave. and Hundley Shores Village Apts.). Transportation will NOT be provided for these areas. Shady Shores Elementary School Hazardous areas include Kingswood MHP, Lakeside Manor MHP, Cielo Ranch, Silktree Ct., Ridgewood/Pembrook Neighborhood, Lakeshore Apts., Burl St., areas West of Corinth Parkway, Creek Side Subdivision and Northbrook Subdivision.
