2019 Bond History
-
A community-led long-range planning committee met regularly throughout fall 2018 to evaluate and assess current and future needs of Lake Dallas ISD. This committee was tasked with developing a recommendation that:
- Considered the educational needs of students
- Provided a solution for the facility needs
- Reflected community values and perceptions of needs
- Remained fiscally sound
Following their meetings, the committee presented a recommendation for a $105 million bond proposal to the Lake Dallas ISD Board of Trustees in December 2018. At their Jan. 18, 2019, meeting, trustees then unanimously voted to call a bond election for the next regular election cycle in May.
Registered voters in Lake Dallas ISD voted in favor of the bond referendum on May 4, 2019, with 67.64 percent (554 people) voting in favor of the referendum and 32.36 percent (265 people) casting votes against the referendum.
