This year’s homecoming parade will take place from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, along the regular parade route (Hundley Drive, Falcon Drive and Main Street in Lake Dallas).
The parade will use a drive-through format – instead of student groups riding on floats through the route, they will be lined up on the roadside of the regular route while families can drive through in their cars. Families are welcome to decorate their cars if they wish, and students will have music playing on the side of the road.
Cars can arrive at any time throughout the time frame to drive through the parade route. Officers will be on hand for safety and to secure the route, which begins and ends at the intersection of Hundley Drive and Shady Shores Road (officers will line cars up along Hundley Drive, near Lake Dallas Middle School).
Students involved in the parade will receive information from their group leaders about arriving and setting up along the route. Prompt arrival is required, as students who do not arrive in time will not be able to participate in the parade.
Families who live in the area should make alternate plans from about 4 to 6 p.m. if they use the parade route for regular traffic. To access Shady Shores Road from I-35, they should instead use the Swisher Road exit.
