Welcome to a new “Falcon Pride” school year!  My name is Charlayne R. Heselton Pruitt (Mrs. Pruitt), and I am honored and thrilled to be a part of the falcon family.  I started my teaching career in 2009.  My teaching background has been in the Visual and Performing Arts, which has included grades PK-12 in general music, band, choir, and the visual arts.  I was born and raised in New Mexico and moved to Texas in 2015 with my husband, who is also a band director, and our four-legged child, Willem, our Weimaraner.

There are a multitude of reasons why I love education, but the driving force for my continued devotion to learning is the moment a person experiences success and begins to develop confidence in their abilities to achieve and grow.  I love helping and supporting others in any way that I can, and if I do not know the answer, I will do whatever I can to help you find the answer.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, going to tearooms (my husband and I were married at my favorite one in NM), creating art, playing my French horn, and spending time with my family, friends, and my four-legged child!

Lake Dallas ISD and the community are, in every aspect, the perfect place to be.  Personally, growing up in a small town already makes LDISD feel like home for me.  We may be a small town but we build genuine connections and unwavering support for everyone we encounter!  We also have the opportunity to utilize all of our surrounding opportunities to continue to grow and showcase student success!
