Our District
Lake Dallas ISD, home of the Falcons, serves about 3,900 students in Denton County with a focus on providing big-school opportunities while maintaining a small-town atmosphere. Located adjacent to Lewisville Lake in North Texas, the school district covers 9.8 square miles and includes all or part of Lake Dallas, Shady Shores, Corinth, and Hickory Creek. With a focus on family and community, Lake Dallas ISD is excited about the growth and achievement of students at its three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
Located approximately 30 miles from downtown Dallas on the growing I-35 corridor, Lake Dallas ISD has recorded an increased population over the past several decades. Historically, the area was once considered a part-time recreational and retirement community, though it now thrives as a year-round residential area.
Offering programs and educational opportunities suited to the needs of a broad spectrum of students, Lake Dallas ISD prides itself on ensuring children have everything they need to reach academic and extracurricular success. Lake Dallas ISD schools, programs, staff, and students earn state and regional recognition regularly. A challenging curriculum, dedicated staff, and supportive community ensure exceptional educational opportunities for all students. Lake Dallas schools continually strive for educational excellence in all areas.
The district is dedicated to giving every student the best possible education through an intensive core curriculum based on guidelines of the Texas Education Agency and an array of specialized, challenging instructional and career programs. Lake Dallas ISD is committed to being one of the nation’s best school systems, constantly improving and refining both instructional programs and managerial operations in the interest of effectiveness, productivity, and economy. Our standards for students and staff members are high and will continue to play a decisive role in ensuring the future success of the dynamic community we serve.
Located in close proximity to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and DFW International Airport, Falcon families have quick access to all they need. The North Texas area serves as an important center of trade, finance, and other major services. The quality of life and diversified economic base make this area one of the choice home, industrial, and manufacturing places to locate.
Our Mission and Vision
In 2022, Lake Dallas ISD kicked off a Strategic Planning effort to help guide the direction of our district over the next five years. With new district leadership, the time was right to review all the things that make us special and unique, while also identifying where we can continuously improve.
In the first phase of the process, the Listening & Learning Tour, the district gathered community feedback with a survey. The survey helped identify the greatest strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats of Lake Dallas ISD. This valuable information was used to help create the belief statements, the mission, and the strategic plan, and to reaffirm our vision and slogan. Also during this phase, a Community Committee–which included teachers and parents–was established and the senior leadership team began reviewing and planning district priorities, objectives, and goals. This resulted in the creation of a Balanced Scorecard.
The Balanced Scorecard was unanimously approved by our School Board and it offers a snapshot of what is important in Lake Dallas ISD and what we'll be focusing on over the next several years. In all, we have four overarching priorities in Lake Dallas ISD: Student Success, Faculty & Staff Engagement, Parent & Family/Community Support and Efficient Operations. You can view our Strategic Plan Balanced Scorecard below or by clicking here.
Each year we will align all of our improvement planning with the Balanced Scorecard to ensure we are implementing annual strategies that meet the needs of our students. I would like to thank you for your continued support as we all work to ensure Lake Dallas ISD remains a place where we inspire, educate, & empower our students.
