Superintendent Dr. Kristin N. Brown
Dr. Kristin N. Brown is an innovative leader with a 25-year history of dedication to student achievement. She comes to LDISD from Lyford CISD where she has been the superintendent since 2019. Previous to being named superintendent of the district, she served in administrative positions for ten years - Assistant Superintendent for five years, Lyford High School principal for three years and Lyford Middle School principal for two years.
Her classroom experience includes six years as a High School Math Teacher from 1998 to 2004. She spent five years at Region One first as GEAR UP Specialist, then as a STEM Center Director, before returning to Lyford as an administrator in 2009.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools at Lake Dallas ISD and am fully committed to the continued success of all students that has been a tradition in this community,” Dr. Brown said. “My leadership has always been one of supporting and investing in teachers, administrators, and support personnel; for they, not programs, produce district success.”
During her time at Lyford CISD, Dr. Brown has earned accolades for her leadership and abilities. In 2022, she was named 1 of 24 “Superintendents to Watch” by National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). In the same year, the Lyford CISD achieved an “A” rating in achievement, and her leadership led the Lyford CISD Board of Trustees to be named “Outstanding School Board” by TASA/TASB.
Dr. Brown earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Texas A & M University - Kingsville, master’s degree in educational leadership and undergraduate degree in Mathematics from University of Texas at Brownsville.
