Welcome Sergeant Smith!

We are thrilled to welcome Barron Smith to the Lake Dallas Independent School District family as our new Police Sergeant! With a robust background in law enforcement spanning over two decades, Sergeant Smith's wealth of experience and leadership will be an invaluable asset to our community.

Starting his career in 1997, Sergeant Smith's dedication to serving and protecting began in the Lea County, New Mexico area, where he honed his skills at the Sheriff’s office and the Lovington, New Mexico Police Department. His journey led him to the Flower Mound Police Department, where he spent approximately 25 years, holding various roles from Patrol Officer to School Resource Unit Sergeant.

During his tenure as a Sergeant, Sergeant Smith played a pivotal role in overseeing a patrol shift, the traffic unit, and the school resource officer unit, illustrating his commitment to the safety and well-being of the community. His extensive training certifications garnered over the years are a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft, and we are confident that his expertise will greatly benefit the LDISD community.
