Yes.  All LDISD PD Officers are licensed peace officers.  They are certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.  LDISD Police Officers have jurisdictional authority within district boundaries and any location the district has assets or students.

Yes. Outside extra jobs go through an administrative review and departmental approval process. You may frequently see a LDISD Police Officer in a LDISD uniform working events outside our primary jurisdiction such as traffic control, community events, churches, restaurants, movie theaters, and sporting events.

Yes. LDISD PD officers are authorized to issue traffic citations and enforce traffic laws on and off school property.

Tickets issued by LDISD Police Officers are adjudicated in the Denton County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace located at 1 Courthouse Dr, Suite 1100, Denton, TX 76208.

If you do not appear in court or pay your fine, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest. Any police officer may arrest you once the warrant is issued.

Yes. They have the authority to make arrests both on and off campus.

No, LDISD Police Officers do not assign discipline for school related code of conduct violation.  They may request a student to comply with the code of conduct but all official discipline is issued by campus administrators.
