SHAC

Student Health Advisory Council

SHAC is a group of individuals representative of segments of the community, generally appointed by the school district to serve at the district level. They provide advice on coordinated school health programming and its impact on student health and learning.

SHAC provides an efficient, effective structure for creating and implementing an age-appropriate, sequential health education program, and early intervention and prevention strategies that can easily be supported by local families and community stakeholders.

It is important to emphasize that SHAC provides advice and can only make recommendations to the school district Board of Trustees. They are not part of the paid administrative staff or structure of the schools; nor do they have legal responsibilities within the school district. Please contact John Modica for more information or if you are interested in becoming a member - office phone: 940-497-4039 or email: jmodica@ldisd.net.

SHAC Vision:

We envision a school community that encourages and supports the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of all children.

SHAC Mission:

It is the Mission of Lake Dallas I.S.D. School Health Advisory Council to promote and support the healthy living of all students through a quality coordinated school health approach.
