  • Pre-Season Rehearsal Information

    A document regarding the arrival and departure procedures for our upcoming marching rehearsals was emailed to our membership and parents on August 9, 2020. These protocols are very different from our "normal", so it is imperative that everyone familiarize themselves with this information.

    This document is also available in the Band app. 

    BAND CAMP REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

    Band Camp rehearsals will run from 7:00 am to 10:30 am each day. 

    Group A - August 10, 12, 14, 18, 20 ONLY

    • High Brass (Trumpets/Mellophones)
    • Flutes
    • Saxophones
    • All Percussion
    • Color guard

    Group B - August 11, 13, 17, 19,  21 ONLY

    • Low Brass (Trombones/Euphonium/Tubas)
    • All Clarinets
    • All Percussion
    • Color guard

  • Placement Results - 2020-2021 Falcon Band

    Thank you to everyone who prepared, recorded and submitted their placement audition videos. And especially "Thank You" for sticking with us through this most unusual time!  We are looking forward to being with you again doing what we love - making music! 

    Please Note:  Due to the circumstances surrounding our need for a video audition, each section is listed ALPHABETICALLY, with the Principal player for each setion denoted with an astericks. A "Principal Player" is first chair. All other chairs orders will be determined once our in-class rehearsals resume.

    In the event that you don't see your name listed here and you will be participating in the Falcon Band for the 2020-2021 school year, please contact Mrs. Kennedy immediately (dmkennedy@ldisd.net).

  • UIL Physical Requirements for 2020-2021 School Year

    Please navigate to the "Forms" tab to access this year's UIL Pre-Participation Evaluation Form. Due to the COVID closures and the difficulty in seeing a physician this summer, the UIL has made a requirement change for the 2020-2021 school year ONLY. 

    It is important that you read this information carefully, so that you are in compliance with the LDISD and the UIL.

    Students who have not completed the necessary paperwork prior to the first day of marching band rehearsals will not be allowed to participate until completed. Students who miss vital training and information due to a lack of planning could risk their ability to participate. Please make this a priority this summer.

  • 2020-2021 Wind Placement Audition Link is NOW LIVE!!

    The audition submission link is now available on the Placement Audition Information Page!  Students have until Sunday, May 17 @ 11:59 pm to complete and upload their submissions.  Best of Luck to EVERYONE!!!

  • Week at a Glance: July 29th - August 3rd, 2019

    Rehearsal Schedule – MONDAY THRU FRIDAY (July 29 – August 2)

    6:20 am - Band hall opens

    6:30 am – Water and Field Set-up according to schedule

    • Section Leaders – pick up lanyards for your sections (Monday only)
    • Members – meet in the Echo Gym to store cases & binders and walk to the practice field. Lockers will not be accessible until 11:00 am.

    7:00 am to 11:00 am – Visual Block

    • WINDS & COLOR GUARD: Outside marching rehearsal (meet your section leader on parking lot)
    • ALL PERCUSSION: Meet in the main band hall
      • 9:15 am - Fruit Break for ALL

    11:00 am - Lunch On Your Own

    • Students may bring their lunch and stay on campus or eat off campus with parent permission.
    • Members who will be staying on campus – you may eat your lunch in the Echo Gym. All trash MUST be removed and disposed of by the end of lunch. Members may NOT eat in the band hall, the cafeteria or in the area outside the band hall, due to construction.
      • Microwaves will NOT be available for student use. Plan accordingly.

    12:00 pm - 3:00 pm – Music Block

    • Locations may change throughout the week. Flexibility is key for our success!
    • Members should be prepared for LIMITED outdoor music rehearsal time in shaded areas. The following locations are where each group will meet on Monday. Wind and Percussion students will need their instrument, binder, a music stand and their water.
    • Woodwinds: Echo Gym with Mrs. Kennedy
    • Brass: Old Main Gym with Mr. Bayless
    • Percussion: Band Halls with Mr. Burke & Mr. Chapman
    • Color Guard: Comp Gym Foyer with Coach Pham

    FRIDAY ONLY – FULL BAND / SECTION / INDIVIDUAL PICTURES

    3:00 pm – Members dismissed from rehearsal; Change into the formal uniform (no gloves; no hats)

    • Report to Competition Gym by 3:20 pm
    • Color Guard – Pictures in rehearsal black (Coach Pham will define); Color Guard section and individual pictures will be scheduled AFTER costumes have arrived.
    • Picture order forms due on picture day!

    Saturday, August 3, 2018

    6:20 am - Band hall opens

    6:30 am – Water and Field Set-up: All Leadership, please

    7:00 am to 11:00 am

    • WINDS, BATTERY & COLOR GUARD: Outside competitive marching rehearsal on practice field
    • FRONT ENSEMBLE: Indoor music rehearsal in main band hall
