NHS meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.
Each year, middle level and high school chapters dedicate numerous hours to school and community service projects.
The National Student Project Database supports these efforts by providing detailed information about projects conceived, organized, and completed entirely by student leaders. Each entry offers a detailed description of the project, and many offer photos, links, and other supporting documents as well.
You can search for project ideas using keywords, school information, project type, project size, project location, and much more. NHS members get unlimited access to project search results.
Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the parent organization of the National Honor Society, has awarded more than $10 million in NHS scholarships to outstanding NHS members. The program currently provides $250,000 annually in scholarship awards. Beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year, more students will be recognized with larger awards.
Created in 1994, the Outstanding Service Project (OSP) awards recognize National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society chapters that have made significant service contribution at the local level. With more than 25,000 active chapters, it is estimated that millions of hours of service are performed each year by Honor Society members. Each project submitted for this award is judged based on their goals and organization, service impact, involvement, and the quality and clarity of their written summary.
Our corporate partner, Herff-Jones, Inc., provides the plaques for the Outstanding Service Projects each year. They are a generous and loyal supporter of the Honor Societies.
