Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Alice Zamora. I am the Site Coordinator with Communities In Schools of North Texas (CIS) at Lake Dallas Middle School. I am a Licensed Baccalaurete Social Worker. I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Woman's Univeristy and my Master's degree in Social Work August 2019 from The University of Texas at Arlington. I began working at LDMS January 2018 and am excited to return for the 2019-2020 school year!
My role on campus is to provide supportive guidance to at-risk students that may be struggling with academics, attendance, and/or behavior issues. We set goals and work to achieve those goals throughout the year. I take interested students on college/trade school tours, during the summer, to show them opportunities available to them. I also provide support to any student in need of school supplies, snacks, clothing, food for the weekend, as well as referrals for resources in the community. Below are some examples of services and support CIS can help with:
- Students who need tutoring or help with completing homework
- Students who need academic encouragement
- College Information
- Students who are not coming to class- I can do home visits to see what is going on
Social Service Needs:
- school supplies
- hygiene products
- social skills
- anger management
Do not hesitate to contact me for more information about the Communities In Schools program and how it may benefit your student and family!
