The Long Range Facilities Planning committee was comprised of parents, grandparents, educators, business leaders and taxpayers who spent four months analyzing the needs of our district. The committee reviewed a variety of information, including current facilities and facility assessments, demographic reports and enrollment projections, financial information, bonding capacity, tax impact scenarios, educational programs, and immediate and future needs of the district.
With more than sixty participants, the goal was to receive broad input from residents from across the entire district. Through their efforts, including campus tours and extensive research, the facilities planning committee recommended a $105 million bond package.
The Lake Dallas ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation of the volunteer facilities committee on January 18, 2019. Voters approved the bond funding in a referendum election on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
