Erica George
LDMS Counselor
6th-8th Grade, Alpha A-L
Erica George is the counselor for students with the last names A-L. Ms. George is new to Lake Dallas ISD. She has previously served as a special education teacher, middle school coach, and elementary & high school counselor in other districts. Prior to working in education, she worked as a case manager/crisis worker for MHMR, an adult parole officer, and an investigator for DFPS.
She has over 13 years in education and has earned a Master’s Degree in education with an emphasis in special education.
Ms. George believes in the power of building relationships and social-emotional learning as a way to increase student academic and personal success. She looks forward to a great school year while partnering with students and their families.
Ms. George enjoys reading, time with family, church, and her visits to Planet Fitness.

Erica Kelm
LDMS Counselor
6th-8th Grade, Alpha M-Z
Erica Kelm is the counselor for students with the last names M-Z. Mrs. Kelm grew up in Carrollton, Texas, where her passion for education began. She obtained degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas (Bachelor of Science-Interdisciplinary Studies) and The University of North Texas (Master of Education-Special Education, Diagnostician). She is currently working on obtaining her Licensed Professional Counselor credentials through Midwestern State University.
Mrs. Kelm taught for over 15 years as a third-grade teacher and ESL Specialist. In addition to the Texas School Counselor certification, she also holds certifications in ESL, Special Education, Diagnostician, and Elementary Generalist PK-8. She takes a solution-focused approach to counseling and works collaboratively with the LDMS teachers, staff, and families to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
When not working with students, Mrs. Kelm loves traveling and spending time with her family. Being out in nature and participating in a variety of water sports are some of her favorite activities. She rarely misses an opportunity to see the USAF Thunderbirds or Blue Angels airshows.
