Tamara Lee has been described by her colleagues as “caring”, “extremely patient”, “enthusiastic”, “dedicated”, and “joyful.” Students describe her as “fantastic”, “kind”, and “a great teacher.”  She has been in public education for 11 years with 3 of those years in Lake Dallas ISD. Mrs. Lee has expanded our music program by creating an ORFF ensemble for our fifth graders and advocated for more instruments in our music room to ensure that students have the opportunity to play all types of instruments.  She has designed incredible grade level programs that are highly attended by our families!  It is with great honor that I recognize Mrs. Tamara Lee as our Shady Shores Elementary Teacher of the Year!

    Favorite thing about being a teacher . . .

I absolutely love being a Music teacher! I get to share my passion for singing, dancing, playing, and creating with students in every grade level. My favorite thing about being the Music teacher is the synergizing! There is something magical that happens when a group of students work together to create a beautiful song. Each person plays or sings their own part, but when all of the parts are put together it becomes so much more. I am so lucky that I get to be a part of that magic in my music room each day!

Favorite thing about your campus . . .

My favorite thing about Shady Shores Elementary is the extraordinary amount of love that is shown every day. As a parent and a teacher, I feel so blessed to work in a school filled with amazing educators who care so deeply about their students.

    Favorite thing about LDISD . . .

My favorite thing about teaching in LDISD is the small hometown community that we have. It feels like one big family and we truly are better together!
