Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Sharon Simon

My name is Sharon Simon. I am the Library Media Specialist at Corinth Elementary. I have been a teacher since 1981. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 1980 and my Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Library Science in 1982 from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  I have been a librarian at Ridgecrest Elementary School in Amarillo, Texas for one year. Then my husband and I moved from Amarillo to Ballenger where I taught in Olfin, Texas for three years. We then moved to Abilene where I was the head librarian at Abilene High School for three years. We bought our first home and started our family when we moved to Denton. I was a stay at home mom for three years. I have three sons Tanner, Tyler, and Travis. I also now have two daughter-in-laws, Sara and Danielle. Danielle is married to Tyler, and Sara is married to Tanner.  I have been with Lake Dallas ISD since 1993. When I started with LDISD I was over the three elementary schools. I did this for 5 years. Then another librarian was hired so I was down to two schools. I did two schools for a couple of years until another librarian was hired. Corinth Elementary has always been my home school or my second family.

"The library is the temple of learning, and learning has liberated more people than all the wars in history." Carl T. Rowan
