Lake Dallas ISD Partners with Tarleton State

Lake Dallas ISD students who graduate within the top 50% of their class will now receive automatic admission to Tarleton State University.

This agreement is part of the invitation-only Distinguished High School Partnership Program. Tarleton State University President, Dr. James Hurley, and members of his executive team recently met with Lake Dallas ISD Superintendent, Dr. Mike Rockwood to finalize the partnership.

“The Distinguished High School Partnership ensures that some of the brightest students in Texas can have a high-quality university experience, and that excites us,” said President Hurley. “These partnerships are the next step in strengthening our relationships with area school districts.” The Tarleton State University contingent also received a student-led tour of Lake Dallas High School, while visiting with different student groups. “In Lake Dallas ISD, our mission is to inspire, educate and empower our students,” said Dr. Rockwood. “This partnership with Tarleton State University is another great opportunity to fulfill our mission, while putting our Falcons First.”

The Distinguished High School Partnership is one of many University agreements that Lake Dallas ISD has in place. Other notable partnerships include the Eagle Advantage Partnership with the University of North Texas and the Pioneer Promise with Texas Woman’s University.
