LDHS Students at Texas Thespian Festival

At the Texas Thespian Festival, our students not only took workshops from working professionals to sharpen their skills but competed in several different categories, both in acting and technical events. The students choose and prepare their pieces to be adjudicated by a panel of judges. If a student receives a superior rating they will be able to compete at the International Thespian Festival this June in Gary, Indiana.

This year had the biggest number of entries with over 2,400 entries, and three of our students were awarded superior ratings.

Peyton Butler for her original costume design for Silent Sky. Bianka Lougheed for the solo musical piece from Always a Bridesmaid, Never A Bride from I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.

Emmalee Clark received a Superior Rating for her fully realized prop design for Beetlejuice. Unfortunately, this is not yet a national qualifying event at this time. This is a brand new contest and she is the first entry for Lake Dallas.
