Lake Dallas Middle School Student Council members attended the Texas Association of Student Councils District 3 Winter Retreat at Sky Ranch last week. They decided to run for the TASC District 3 President and were elected for a second term.
“This is a great accomplishment and it allows for our students so many opportunities within the community, North Texas and across the state,” Mr. John Fabro, StuCo Advisor, said. “We now represent the voice of over 200 middle schools.”
The 39 LDMS StuCo members also made connections with other schools and exchanged ideas for service projects and other ways to keep building a strong school culture between staff and students. While the students gained leadership and team-building experiences, the advisors planned the upcoming academic year.
“I am so very proud of these students and the ideas, connections, and partnerships that they have created,” Mr. Fabro said. “I look forward to all of the great ideas that these young leaders have and will implement throughout our school and community.”
The LDMS StuCo is thankful to the LDMS Staff and Administration for supporting their commitment to continue building a positive school culture.
“They are wonderful about giving up their personal time to make sure our students get to experience opportunities to meet other leaders,” Mr. Fabro said. “The value our district sees in our program allows for our students to become leaders within the schools, community and state levels.”
