Lake Dallas High School senior Lanie Schantz will have artwork displayed at the annual TASA/TASB Convention, placing her among the few in the state to have their art represented at the event for top educational representatives.

The display will take place virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing virtual attendees with a look at a piece of artwork in her AP portfolio. “Through the Chaos,” Lanie’s painting on display and seen in the photo above, investigates how making art helps counterbalance the stress of life as a student-athlete. Lanie is also a member of her school’s varsity volleyball team.

Each year, the Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards jointly host their convention. The TASA/TASB Convention will take place virtually from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, with school administrators and school board members from across Texas in attendance. Art is presented by the Texas Art Education Association.
