Volleyball program hosting fundraiser for those battling breast cancer

During the month of October, Lake Dallas High School’s football and volleyball teams are honoring breast cancer awareness and those fighting the disease, and the volleyball team is currently hosting a fundraiser to benefit two cancer fighters.

Both teams will wear pink, the color for breast cancer awareness, throughout the month, with the volleyball team hosting a special Dig Pink night on Tuesday, Oct. 13. At the game, baskets and hand-painted canvases for a fundraiser will be on display.

The fundraiser will benefit two district teachers fighting cancer, Ursula Barrett Abbott and Amy Koch. Bidding has begun and will end at midnight on Oct. 16. Items in the auction include gift cards, themed baskets and paintings from each varsity volleyball player honoring someone they know battling cancer.
