LDMS StuCo Elected President School
Lake Dallas ISD is proud to announce that the Lake Dallas Middle School Student Council was elected President School for District 3 this year at its winter retreat at Sky Ranch in Van, Texas last week.
This retreat gave the 40 participating LDMS students the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills alongside other students in North Texas.
In addition to election as President School, the LDMS Student Council is expected to receive the Outstanding Student Council and Sweepstakes for the fourth year in a row in April. To attain that designation, the council meets specific requirements including growth (the program has grown by 80% in the last 4 years) and community service.
“These young leaders are out and about in our community at animal shelters, monthly trash clean-ups and community events working closely with our local government leaders to help in our community,” Mr. John Fabro, StuCo Advisor, said. “In addition, they partner with the Salvation Army in their "bags of love" program, work with our elementary schools in The Leader in Me Program, and work cohesively with LDHS StuCo to promote leadership K-12 in the district.”
The accomplishment of the LDMS Student Council shows how a small school can embrace big opportunities. Leading the LDMS StuCo this year are these officers:
Peyton Butler (8th), President
Naomi Wheat (8th), Vice President
Liberty Thomson (8th), Secretary
Brady Garrison (8th), Treasurer
Cassidy Forehand (7th), Historian
Tommy Gladen (7th), Parliamentarian
Marcus Tolson (8th), Lead Committee Chairman
John Fabro, Advisor / State Middle Level Board member
Theresa Pierce, Co-advisor
