Update on STAAR and EOC testing going forward

STAAR and EOC testing originally scheduled to take place yesterday, April 6, will now resume Tuesday, April 13, following technical problems with the Texas Education Agency's online testing provider.

Tests that will now take place April 13 include 4th grade writing at the elementary level, 7th grading writing at the middle school level and English I at the high school level. Please be aware that remaining STAAR and EOC tests will take place as originally scheduled. This includes the English II EOC at the high school level tomorrow, April 8.

Despite the failure of the online testing system used by TEA, the agency has said these tests must be completed. TEA says students’ answers that have been entered into the online system will be saved. Those who began tests before the system crashed will continue where they left off, including with the specific amount of time remaining before the failure, according to TEA.
