Richardson, McKinley elected to seats on school board

Lake Dallas ISD voters have elected Stephen Richardson and Alicia McKinley to the district school board, according to preliminary results. Following certification of results, both individuals will be sworn in at the next school board meeting.

In the May 1 election, voters elected Mr. Richardson to the Place 1 seat on the board after he received 873 votes for 72.03 percent of the total tally. Voters elected Mrs. McKinley to the Place 2 seat on the board after she received 666 votes for 56.30 percent of the total tally. When both candidates are sworn in at the next Lake Dallas ISD school board meeting, they will begin their three-year terms steering the district’s direction with their fellow board members.

Mr. Richardson joins the board, his first time holding elected office, bringing an education background to the role. He currently serves as principal of Hackberry Elementary School, part of Little Elm ISD. He is a Falcon himself, having attended Lake Dallas ISD schools growing up and graduated from Lake Dallas High School. He is the proud father of two Lake Dallas ISD students.

Mrs. McKinley joins the board, her first time holding elected office, with a strong background of supporting Lake Dallas ISD schools. She has served on the Lake Dallas Middle School PTA, District Education Improvement Committee, Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee and Student Health Advisory Council (which she leads as chair). She is the proud mother of two Lake Dallas High School graduates and two current Lake Dallas ISD students.

Votes will be canvassed in the coming weeks to formally certify election results.
