Cheer squads prepare for 2021-22 with successful camp

Lake Dallas High School’s cheerleading squads prepared for the upcoming school year with a successful camp that led to numerous team awards.

For the entire program, including both varsity and JV, the team won the coveted Leadership Award, representing the school attending teams would want to be part of. This program is spirited, kind, respectful, helpful and encouraging. The Falcon program also earned the Spirit Stick all three days of the camp with the Top Banana award similarly earned for having the most energy for all three days.

The varsity team also earned the championship in camp routine, while earning superior ribbons in crowd leading and camp routine. JV earned the championship in cheer and overall game day, while earning a superior ribbon in crowd leading and excellent ribbon for camp routine.

On the individual side, eight cheerleaders earned All-American recognition, representing the top 10 percent in the nation: seniors Landry Billingsley, Andrea Carrasco, Hannah Graham, Emma McCollum and Chloe Reeves; sophomores Harlie Hicks and Hannah Rogers; and freshman Kanai Johnson. Finally, three cheerleaders earned the Pin It Forward Award for helping others as well as being respectful and positive: seniors Andrea Carrasco and Hannah Graham and junior Alyssa Bragg.
