The Lake Dallas ISD Board of Trustees has approved Travis L. Waddell as Executive Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Advanced Academics. In this role, Mr. Waddell will direct and manage district career and technology education programs and facilities to meet student needs.

Currently, Mr. Waddell is the Director of CTE for Irving ISD, which is one of the most diverse school districts in the state. “I am thrilled to welcome Travis to the Falcon Family,” said Lake Dallas ISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Rockwood. “He has extensive experience leading career and technical education programs and I know he will be a great asset as we continue to expand our student offerings and opportunities in Lake Dallas ISD.” 

Waddell is a product of CTE dating back to the mid 1980’s wood working, home economics, welding, and automotive classes beginning in junior high school. He has a passion for assisting others in understanding graduation requirements, Programs of Study, and helping students find a career path that not only excites them but brings them lifelong joy.   

Mr. Waddell earned his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University, his master’s degree in educational administration from Texas Woman's University and is currently seeking his doctoral degree in administrator leadership for teaching and learning from Walden University. He holds both superintendent and principal certifications.
