Congratulations to Lake Dallas Elementary teacher Shelby Austin for receiving DATCU's Teacher of the Month. Shelby received this award at the Lake Cities Chambers of Commerce Luncheon on November 10, 2022. 

Shelby Austin exemplifies everything a great teacher is and everything a great teacher does. She engages the students in her classroom in meaningful academic conversations and interesting and relevant activities. She excels at building student relationships and connecting with her students. Her students described her as fun, kind, and a good listener. She has proven to students and staff alike, that she is a campus leader with a love and a heart for teaching. Ms. Austin is an important and valued part of the fabric of the Lake Dallas ISD Falcon Family, as she strives to put Falcons first each and every day.
