LDHS senior Jared Fenley will continue his football career at the next level as he pursues his college degree at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. Falcon Football held a signing day celebration for Fenley on May 6 with parents, teachers, friends, teammates and coaches in attendance.
LDHS Head Football Coach Michael Young said, "This is a big day for Jared. We are proud of his accomplishments athletically and in the classroom. He has represented us well a Falcon on and off the field, and we know that he will find success at the next level.”
The 13-year senior and 3-year letterman has many accomplishments on the football field and in the classroom including 2nd Team and Honorable Mention Linebacker awards, Academic All State Honorable Mention, and Certified Clinical Medical Assisting License (CCMA). Fenley plans to pursue a degree in Pre-Physical Therapy.
“I was looking at UMHB before the coaches even contacted me due to the outstanding medical program,” Fenley said. “When the coaches contacted me, I was thrilled that I got the best of both worlds. The Cru is a team with two national championships in the past three years (’16 & ’18) and multiple conference championships. With my CCMA license, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I can’t wait for what God has for me.”
